The wounded alien orders Gort to stop his rampage and is taken to a hospital from which he escapes in order to learn more about this planet, even moving in as a boarder with an Earth family. When they begin to suspect him, he reveals himself, along with the news that Gort is a member of a race of super-robot enforcers invented to keep the peace of the galaxy that will destroy the Earth if provoked.

have you heard this poem/do you like it?
okay first of all I DID NOT WRITE this poem. It is called the rainbow bridge or something and i think it is the sweetest most adorable poem on the planet. It makes me cry every time I hopw you like it as much as i do! please comment!

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,

Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.

Where the friends of man and woman do run,

When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,

Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.

On this golden land, they wait and they play,

Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,

For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.

Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,

Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,

Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.

All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,

Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;

Together again, both person and pet.

So they run to each other, these friends from long past,

The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,

Has turned into joy once more in each heart.

They embrace with a love that will last forever,

And then, side-by-side, they cross over

How can I build a fashion doll from scratch?
How can I go about making my own fashion doll molds?
I am interested in making my own 12" fashion doll because the really good ones that are for sale are SO EXPENSIVE. Does anyone know how can I go about making my own fashion doll molds using plastic, rubber or other materials? I am not interested in transforming a doll that is already made, but starting from scratch. Serious replies only. Thanks.

There are doll making magazines that can help you with that, I believe one is called Doll Crafter.

But I think that making your own would be way more expensive than buying them…and yes, I do know the price of modern fashion dolls!

I admire your ambition, but I think you need to find out what’s all involved, it might be a bigger task than you think!

Who thinks this would be a cool idea for a video game?
ok. i’ve had this idea for a long time. and then i saw something sorda like it. a TV show. its called Special Ops Mission. if u havn’t seen it i will briefly explain what its about

its not acting. its reality. they take a Marine (or Army. whatever he is) guy. Wil Willis (yes. 1 "L" on "Wil") and put him on differnt missions. like for example in one of them, 4 men have 4 hostages. and are going to sell them off. they are located in an old hospital. they are trying to sell the hostages so they can get money to buy weapons.

now. they are all (Wil and the guys playing the kidnappers) using M16s or other standard millitary weapons. they use fake ammunition that is the closet thing to real ammo. it shoots the same and everything but obviously doesn’t go into the skin. its kinda like a paintball but hits harder.

ok. so in the game u would star your mission a good ways from the place u need to get. like u get dropped from a helicopter, ride tehre in a boat, vehicle etc. far enough so ur enemy doesnt hear, see,or pick it up on radar.

u then have to make ur way to the objective by urself with no help.all you have is your weapon, side arm, knife, mabey some gernades. flash bangs, frag, smoke, (depending on the mission)and other things depending on what the mission is about.

and have it realistic for once.

although Modern Warfare 2 is a very fun game i dont get why tehy say its almost like being in a real battle. although i have never been in a battle i assume its nothing like the game. were u have around 10 guys with u taking on hundreds and hundreds of enemys.getting shot up and being ok. running around out of cover that much. (again. i LOVE Modern Warfare 2. but it just doenst seem realistic to what real warfare would be like)

have it completely realistic. like have if u get shot u actaully get HURT. like if u are shot in the leg then u are somewhat "handicapped" like u cant run as fast. mabey there is a limp that throws off your shooting if ur in a firefight, etc. or if ur shot in the arm. u cant aim as good. or mabey when u hold the gun up to look down the sights after a while u have to put it down cause its messing with ur arm. but have checkpoints. like if ur trying to get into a building once u get close to the building its a check point. once ur inside the building its a checkpoint. and mabey after every engagment with the enemy its a check point (once they are all either elimanted or u get away from the fight)

have it u die easily. so u have to be stealthy. not Splinter Cell stealthy. but somewhat stealthy. like u can’t just run around shooting and throwing gernades (but its not like the game can keep u from doing that if u want. so if u want go ahead).have each mission be open world. in most games if u see a room u can go into u know there is someone in there, or its important in some way. in MY game they would have multiple rooms open. or u could open them urself. and u could search for random stuff. such as maps of the place your in (it could just be a fire escape plan if ur in a building. and u could use that to understand the layout somewhat)and i think it would be cool if it didn’t tell u were they people ur supposed to kill/save/find are.u just know a general locations and u have to seach for them urself. which is why stealth is important. and mabey u shouldnt just pop the first person u see.cause if its a hostage situation and u kill someone and they dont respond when the rest of the guys try to contact him thigns could get out of hand. which is why u need to clear rooms, set up ambushes. and i think the people (such as guards on patrol) shouldn’t be in the same place every time u play the game. like have they are on a "random path" so they arnt always in the same spot and so u cant plan your way through guards like in some games. and have stuff move realisticly. like if ur walking through a room u can bump into stuff and make noise. or move things and mabye somebody later on comes through the room and will see something knocked over and know somethings up.

so what do u think? if u dont like it thats ok but please dont send hate stuff. ok? and if u do like it tlel me what parts u think are cool. and tell me of anything u would add, take away, or change.

so. would u play this game?

i think that sounds like a cool game, but i dont really play shooting/war games. i bet a lot of people would like to play it. good luck! you might even be able to sell your idea to a game making company.

Is it always evil to burn someone's house down?
Once upon a time, a man bought a Southern California house in 2001 on a sub-prime mortgage that he was barely able to qualify for. In case of a foreclosure, the guy kept all his valuables out of the house, all items he cared about he put in a separate storage facility where he worked.

In 2004, that house DOUBLED in value. The house went from $700,000 to 1.4 MILLION dollars but he couldn’t cash in on it till the house was sold.

A real jerk came along and BURNT his house down. He had a decent homeowners Insurance policy, and they gave him cash proceeds at nearly 1.2 Million Dollars because that same year his assessed premium went up. Nobody was injured, no valuables lost.

He then paid 100% of his outstanding mortgage debt and moved into tiny wooden cabin just for the fun of it. 4 years later, EVERYBODY’s home in his neighborhood was in foreclosure and the properties can’t even get sold for $400,000…..

The evil house burner saved this man HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of DOLLARS, so much so that this guy is going to testify in favor of the guy who burnt down his house, in a criminal case.

Therefore, is it sometimes GOOD to burn down someone’s house?
and it gets even better than that. The guy who set fire to the house created JOBS for construction workers for a new potential buyer

No someone could of gotten injured in the fire, would it have been ok than?*

does anyone think that a low profile tire looks tackey on a chevy tahoe ? or is it a waste , and is a 305/45r-22 preetty good or is it too big for my car.

 Fernando,

It depends what you have in mind. I can’t say the size is to big, but a tire shop can tell you exactly the right specs. Low profile tires along with a lowered set of springs gives the vehicle a crouched muscular stance. Most car enthusiasts like the look. To live with low profile tires has its share of disadvantages. Low profile tires can bulge from the sidewall if the driver hits a pothole, requiring a new tire. These type of tires are for smooth roads. The ride can be harsh. Besides hugging corners and getting a good start and perhaps wet weather traction the truck’s engineered purpose in life is halved. It can only be a cruiser. If this is what you have in mind then it is a good idea.

Best.

Probably not a bad fit as long as it fills in the wheel openings. One thing to consider is that low profile tires do not ride as smoothly as a higher profile tire because there is not as much sidewall to act as a cushion. Before you make the investment be sure you are willing to give up ride quality.
I think they look positively ridiculous. Big wheels and low-pro tires are just another form of whipping it out to see who is longest.

Free usenet reader for multipart / yenc?
Seriously…I used Macintosh for years and YANW and Thoth handled these just fine…Thoth wasn’t free but it was cheap…YANW was free.

There HAS to be a free news reader that can handle multiple part threads and yEnc. Xananews handles yEnc but doesn’t have a clue what to do with a multiple part posting and downloading binaries is a pain in the butt with it. Free agent kind of sucks all around. Nomad news only allows 25 downloads in the "demo" version and it seems to hide it’s files somewhere…I won’t even go into that one…Thunderbird makes me view each post before I can save the attachment and I still haven’t found a way to save a bunch of them at once…

So seriously, is there a free (and relatively easy) usenet program that will let me download multiple part yEnc encoded files without 20 clicks per file? I’m using Vista if that matters.
