Plot: A flying saucer orbits the 1950s Earth. It lands in Washington, DC, on the Mall. The lone occupant steps out and is shot by a jumpy soldier. Gort, a large and very powerful robot appears to save him and is able to melt tanks with the slightest bit of his power. The wounded alien orders Gort to stop his rampage and is taken to a hospital from which he escapes in order to learn more about this planet, even moving in as a boarder with an Earth family. When they begin to suspect him, he reveals himself, along with the news that Gort is a member of a race of super-robot enforcers invented to keep the peace of the galaxy that will destroy the Earth if provoked.

Wondering how many snake owners on Yahoo Answers do live vs. frozen mice/rats?
Both of my ball pythons and my red tailed boa only likes live rats and refuses to eat anything frozen or pre-killed, is it me or the snakes?

What does your snake(s) prefer?

Don’t worry Mr. Lopez, it’s not you. All animals have preferences, even snakes. In general ball pythons will only eat live. Some can get them to eat FT or PK, but not very often. Red-Tails usually eat either way but it seems that yours prefers live. There is nothing wrong with them or you.

What do you think about this version of evolution ?
I know this sounds ridiculous but please read it first.

I remember when i was young i read many kinds of comic and one of them is called Astro Boy. An old Japanese comic about human civilization in modern era.

So there is one chapter is special. The story is about how the evolution in earth begin when an alien arrive millions years ago. That alien is interested with earth beautiful landscape and millions of different kind of species.

So he decide to choose 1 of the animals to do his experiment and he choose monkey. He change the monkey body structure to make it able to walk straight then he begin to manipulate the size of that monkey brain and make it smarter. After that he teach that monkey how to start a fire. So the alien is satisfied and leave the planet earth.

The story is not end but i think you maybe not interested with the rest of story so i end it here.
How do you think this version of evolution ?
Is it possible ?

If you look at the Egyptians. Their Gods are always wearing these animal masks and they are said to have taught people agriculture, literature, mummification, engineering, etc… This is also similar with Mayans, and with Indian literature where some weird looking being came down and taught people many things. Our DNA is 95% identical to chimps. You can activate many traits by turning some genes on or off, so that theory is highly plausible, that an alien came down and modified our DNA from Apes.

It’s a common belief among New Agers actually, that aliens did play a role in human evolution. It’s not inherently impossible if we assume there is a loophole in relativity which would get around that pesky speed limit of the speed of light. But there really isn’t any evidence to support it. DNA studies also haven’t really found any evidence of it, and the human genome is pretty similar to Apes. Also if it were the case, it would have been apes, not humans, as humans are more similar to Apes.

Anything is *possible*– you need evidence. Humans probably didn’t have fires at the same time we learned to walk. We don’t directly descend from monkeys either- humans and other primates share a common ancestor.

the bible was translated from the ancient hebrew, therefor there are many stories allegories and symbology. we know that earth was created during 7 ages or periods of time…all creatures and plants were brought here by our heavenly father and the creator of the earth who was jesus chrsit.

It is possible. You should check out Edgar Cayce’s story of creation. It is similar to the bible’s but makes more sense. I tend to agree with your comic though. We are probably the result of an breeding experiment.

I know that cell phone company’s have to keep a record of each cell phones text messages. Cops, parents, and anyone else can get ahold of these, without reason. what does it mean when i cant cry? (and alot of other things)?
Last June 2009, i had an accident….i committed suicide and was rushed to the hospital. I died 3 mins before i got there and was confirmed dead for about 4-5 or so before i was revived again…since then i wasnt the same…dont feel the same…now its like….i noticed alot of things changed about me… not interested in activities i used to do, but instead i do new things….lost alot of memory….i also noticed after i recovered about 2 weeks later, i couldnt talk properly…it took me at least a month or two to start talking normal again, which is a great success in recovery…. and i noticed im not interested in dating girls much (only wait for the right girl to find me….until then im not interested in any girl unless i know shes the right one)… i keep myself away from people alot (not that they dont like me…i am a "very" popular guy) and i all of a sudden have this obsession with horror movies and darkened fantasy and games (horror) and darkened classical music (silent hill soundtrack, danny elfman music, dark ambient and more)
movies: silent hill, resident evil degeneration, coroline, pans labyrinth etc
games: Silent hill, resident evil etc

i used to enjoy fantasy games, role playing and enjoy movies like action, anime, and so on (according to my friends and family) etc….but now they just completely gone out of my taste….ever since last june…i noticed MAJOR changes in alot things…even my style

can someone tell me why this came to be?…memory loss? changed in alot things? changed in music? and changed in feelings? and changed in how i view life?….i just want your opinion why this came to be…. thanks….

It’s very common for this to happen to someone that has been through all that you have. I’m glad you’re back to being healthy again and as for the other stuff, it may have originated from your accident. Near death experiences can change people in many ways, so its not unordinary that you have a new outloook unlife. You don’t need to be popular and it doesn’t matter what kind of movies or games you like as long as you’re satisfied. It’s not worth it too try and please everyone and the right girl will come.

It could very well be because of what happened. It could be the after effects of it. But if you can’t cry and generally don’t really even feel any emotion at all, I know what that’s called. It’s called Anhedonia. Took me a while to figure that out for myself but yeah, the thing I noticed was I couldn’t cry and felt numb. It is sometimes a symptom of depression.

To ensure this, the computer adds four years to the time crystal on his palm to make it appear that he is on the verge of turning 30. two major ways to save money under his plan, you’re adding 50 Million more people so that alone is monumental cost that are contained by: reducing doctors pay (thus driving them away), rationing health care and a committee determines who gets what treatment, the elderly will be denied treatments as in the EU, and raise taxes.

btw: they will be adding these 50 million but will be the same number of doctors to treat everyone. like in canada, there are not enough to go around and long waits are the norm.

Obama believes in partial birth abortions and thinks letting the new born die without treatment so what would happen to premature children that require expensive procedures to live? bye bye. all this is nothing more than eugenic and that is a very slippy slope. i guess it is one way to control population but do you want you or your family to ‘help’ this way? i don’t.

i see a lot of warnings made by logan’s run, atlas shrugged, brave new world and other cautionary tales.

Just watch the '55 Invasion of the Body Snatchers. I'm a little confused?
Okay, i saw "the Invasion" last year. Bought it about a week ago. Then, i decided to buy the original.
In "the Invasion" everyone is infected with an alien bacteria that takes over their brain and stuff. But, in the 50’s version everyone is replicated by pods. Now, every part of this is running smoothly with me. But, here’s my problem.
I picked up from a similiar question that in one of these films either all the REAL humans are being incinerated, or they’re just plain turn to dust. It would become my broken understanding from the film that once someone falls asleep their mind would be duplicated. From all of this, i would piece together that when you fall asleep, basically you die and the duplicate takes over.
UGH, okay… no more trying to reason with myself. Here is my question.
In the beginning when the pod was on the pool table, why when his original fell asleep did he seem to come to life? More so, when Betty fell asleep almost for only an instant it seemed, how did she immediately wake up an alien?
What am i missing? This is an American classic and i’m left scratching my head because i can’t figure out a "complex" (sarcasm) movie produced 54 years ago.

Where do the pods come from?
Dr Miles Bennell (Kevin McCarthy) can only conclude that they come from a plant created by atomic radiation, mutation, or "some weird alien organism". Miles’ third hypothesis is upheld later in the movie when his colleague, psychiatrist Danny Kauffman (Larry Gates), now a pod person himself, explains to Miles and Becky (Dana Wynter) that seeds drifting through space for years took root in a farmer’s field. From the seeds came pods that have the power to reproduce themselves in the exact likeness of any form of life.

How does a pod take over a human body?
According to what can be seen in the movie, the pod focuses on one person. It begins to take over that person’s physical appearance. When the person is asleep, it then finishes the transformation by taking over mind and memories. Unfortunately, it cannot absorb human emotions, so the resulting clone lacks the ability to feel love, beauty, grief, hope, and all those qualities that characterize the human condition.

What happens to the human’s body after the pod has taken it over?
Dr Bennell’s assumption is that the human body disintegrates. In Finney’s novel, the victim turns to static electricity. Other possibilities that viewers have offered include everything from the body dehydrating and turning to dust to the newly-created clone eating what remains of the human body.
